I don't want to return to the 110/126 Instamatic days, but you could get decent pictures out of those little cameras.
(Some people also can get crummy pictures out of expensive cameras ... I know I can!)
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog (or something like that).
My favorite camera is still my Canon QL17, which isn't even an SLR and doesn't even have automatic metering ... but it's hard to take a bad photo with the doggone thing.
